Hi,

I am Mr. Steve! I have tutored Accounting, Statistics, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, College Algebra, Writing, and other general business courses at DeVry University where I was a staff tutor in the Academic Success Center. I have a Bachelor's degree in Technical Management with the emphasis in Accounting, and I will be in graduate school for Accounting and Finance soon.

I am familiar with online as well at traditional classes, and I know how to help. I often meet students at Starbucks to study, so, if a public setting is more comfortable for you, then we can always meet there. I am familiar with Pearson My Math Lab, electronic textbooks, online test-taking strategies, etc. If you are writing a paper, I can make APA formatting easy for you.

I am very patient, and very friendly. I do my best to help my students, and I will always make the extra effort to help you understand.

Algebra 1

Algebra 1 is really a lot of fun. It is very important to understand the basic concepts because all more advanced math depends on this understanding. I think that students get very frustrated because they have trouble with it early on, but it is really a matter of learning the rules and solving the problems like small puzzles.

Microsoft Excel

Excel is my favorite software program. You can easily do things that used to take hours, or days on paper. You can make spreadsheets for almost anything, and make beautiful graphs of your numbers. Calculations and formulas are a snap, and repeating them from row to row or column to column is a great help in many different subjects.

I use Excel extensively when tutoring statistics, and it makes the subject much easier. I love Excel, and I would love to show you what it can do!
