Hello, potential Students and/or Parents/Guardians of potential Students!
I would love an opportunity to help your or your child succeed in their homework with areas of difficulty, or to help adults learn and master the most basic business software uses, particularly Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes, Outlook, Windows Mail, etc.).
I'm not a teacher with a credential, but as a former California Scholarship Federation student with very high scores, a lifelong learner, and a 10+ year veteran of executive level administrative support, I believe I'm well qualified to do these things. I'm flexible, pretty easygoing, genuinely enjoy kids and love watching that light bulb come on when someone finally "gets" a concept they've struggled with. I have only tutored professionally briefly, years ago as a teacher's aide/tutor in the local school system, but have informally helped many children and adults reach these kinds of goals. I also have conducted corporate training sessions and am familiar with the needs of adult learners. I believe each person has a style of learning that works best for them, and am committed to finding out what that style is for each student, then working with that information to facilitate intellectual growth and understanding. I also believe it's very important to not only facilitate individual lessons, but to encourage and foster a genuine desire to learn. If I can make learning fun (or at least, less of a struggle) into the bargain, then we all win!
I'd love an opportunity to discuss your needs and goals - whether they are for an adult or a child - and find out if we'd be a good fit.
