Hello, potential tutees and tutee representatives!

I offer a wide spectrum of English language learning options and I work with ALL ages. I'm big on interactive, tasked-based lessons, but if workbooks are what you want we can do that, too.

ConvoClub: I'm also starting a couple of weekly conversation clubs if anybody would like casual activity-based (i.e. boardgames, events/outings, karaoke) social speaking and listening practice.

I am a born and bred Bay Area-ian with an eclectic and extensive background. I have an MA in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) from San Jose State, a BA in Education (Webster University - St. Louis, MO), and a Certificate in Technical Theatre.

Though ESL (and all its related acronyms) is my main teaching subject, I am also available for reading and writing (K-12, developmental, academic, creative) tutoring. I've worked at the Language Development Center at SJSU helping college freshman improve the academic reading/writing skills, and I've worked at a university writing center as 1 of 2 undergrads skilled enough to coach graduate students with their writing endeavors. I also ran several Conversation Clubs at International Gateways Language School's Studies in American Language program.

I have also spend several years as Krazy G the Mad Scientist teaching fun and exiting science lessons to students across the nation (Bay Area, St. Louis, MO, and Portland, OR).

I've past the CBEST and have been a K-12 substitute teacher, worked professionally for several years in theatre, went to massage school (A's in Anatomy & Physiology and Kinesiology), and, though I've never done it professionally, I am an AWESOME cook - I am of Italian decent, but I can create all kinds of tasty dishes from across the globe, including vegetarian, vegan, and dishes meeting specialized dietary needs (heartsmart, carbsmart, sugar free, etc.).

As I have worked with special needs children (in a Respite Provider role) and I have experience with children with ADD/ADHD, Aspergers, autism, learning differences, and varying mental abilities. I have also been a caregiver, nanny, and baby-sitter to countless families across the country.

See, I told you I was a modern Renaissance woman.

I look forward to working with you.
