Microsoft Excel Specialist/English Reading and Writing Teacher

Hello,

I am a Bachelor of Science in Business Economics Graduate from the University of the Philippines in 1980. I have a Certificate in Contracts Acquisition for which I achieved for myself a Magna Cum Laude and Dean's List at the Virginia Community College. I have a Certificate in attending an Advanced Excel Software in the East Coast as well. I have aced English Grammar, Reading and Writing test Certifications with Wyzant.

I worked for big companies to include Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), Computer Science Corporation(CSC), General Dynamics (GD), Virgin America (VA) and Onizuka Air Force Station (OAFS). In these companies, I worked with tens of thousand line item reports which needed analytical tools such as the Microsoft Excel Software.

My tutorial method is going through the basics first then to Advanced. Basics include topics such as going through the standard and formatting toolbars. Advanced includes pivot tables, vlookups, hlookups, functions and formulas.

The Advanced portion of the course may sound complicated but is actually based on logic and common sense. My style is making the student understand the formulas and functions and not memorizing them, otherwise, confusion may result. I offer patience and concern for any issues that the student may encounter. I believe that the student's responsiveness is a reflection of whether or not my teaching method is working. I propose to the student that the teaching session will be 2-way, and I am open to any suggestions as well coming from the student.

Reading

Reading entails understanding the thought of a particular article. The article consists of sentences and paragraphs that need to be understood as a whole idea.

The thought process is essential to understanding an article. Defining and zeroing in into a subject and the mental/intellectual analysis of what an article is trying to convey is what reading comprehension is all about.

Writing

English Writing/Composition and Language are words, phrases, sentences and paragraphs put together to create a Composition

Like music and the Visual Arts, these melodies, lyrics, paints, brushes, oils are all ingredients that create a Composition

Writings, Paintings, Music and Photography are some examples of Creations/Compositions.

Macintosh

I have been using Mac products for 10 years now. I used them for Microsoft products such as Word and Excel. Right now, I have 5 products of Macintosh that I use via wireless. I also use this to surf the web, pay bills, get information on a specific topic, etc.

Tax Preparation

I have been doing tax preparation for the past 10 years since 1992. At first, I was doing this for my friends and myself. I did tax preparation manually up to that time when tax preparation could be done via internet that used different softwares.
