I learned Spanish at home and by the 3rd grade I was also speaking English. My bachelor's degree is in Spanish where I learned the grammar, literature and culture. I have also visited Mexico and Spain which were exciting experiences.
I found that knowing Spanish also helped me communicate with clients when I was in law school. It has been very useful and I have also made friends by speaking Spanish.
For many years I have been a Substitute Teacher both in high school and in elementary Spanish Immersion Classes. I really enjoy teaching and speaking Spanish. I look forward to working with those who want to learn espanol.
Also I have taught ESL to non-English speakers. Careful observation of how one is saying a word helps me target pronunciation challenges. English is all around us and one learns by listening, to the media for instance. There are other "tips" that facilitate learning English. It is quite possible for one to speak English in a short time. You must stick to it and don't give up!
Hasta la vista.
