I've been a substitute teacher in Fremont for the past 12 years in every grade and subject. My favorite subjects to teach are social studies, science, and language arts for all grades, especially reading comprehension. There are several ways to improve a student's comprehension, so it's just a matter of which one suits which student's needs. Grammar and creative writing are also subjects that are fun to teach.
I was born in Minnesota, but was raised in the Bay Area. After graduating from high school, I attended College of San Mateo, which is a junior college. I received an Associate of Arts degree. Then I transferred to Chico State University, where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. After graduation, I entered the retail management field.
Many years later I realized I needed a change and entered the field of substitute teaching. I love the change I encounter with each new assignment. One day I'm teaching 1st graders, and the next might be high school seniors. It's an adventure I hope to take until I retire. That date, I hope, will never come, as I love working with children.
During summers, I am available for tutoring, too.
If there is any more information you'd like from me, please do not hesitate to ask.
