I've been a substitute teacher in Fremont for the past 15 years in every grade and subject. My favorite subjects to teach are social studies, science, and language arts for all elementary grades, especially reading comprehension. There are several ways to improve a student's comprehension, so it's just a matter of which one suits the student's needs. Grammar and creative writing are also subjects that are fun to teach. Primary grades are my area of interest.
IF YOU NEED SUMMER TUTORING for Language Arts, ESL, Math, Science, or Social Studies, please consider me!
I was born in Minnesota, but was raised in the Bay Area. After graduating from high school, I attended the College of San Mateo, which is a junior college, from which I received an Associate of Arts degree. Then I transferred to Chico State University, where I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. After graduation, I entered the retail management field.
Many years later I realized I needed a change, and entered the field of substitute teaching. I love the challenge I encounter with each new assignment. One day I'm teaching 1st graders, and the next might be high school seniors. It's an adventure I hope to take until I retire. That date, I hope, will never come, as I love working with children.
If there is any more information you'd like from me, please do not hesitate to ask.
I've been a substitute teacher in Fremont for over 12 years. I love teaching all subjects and grades, especially elementary school children. Writing, phonics, and reading comprehension are the top three subjects in which I tutor now, or have in the past. Currently, I'm using phonics cards designed by me and a phonics expert. They're proving quite popular with students! Since I had reading comprehension problems as a student, I can understand the frustration with a child's inability to analyze and summarize a story. Creative writing is such a wonderful subject to teach, and it includes poetry. Getting students excited about writing is a great gift! Thank you for stopping by and reading my brief biography. If you have further questions, please do not hesitate to contact me here at WyzAnt.
Helping fine tune a student's English skills is key to his or her success in the future.
Grammar is very important for a student to master. It sets the stage for future encounters, especially in a job search. I've known manager where they have read many poorly-written resumes. Those resumes don't get any consideration. Along with spelling, grammar is a top consideration with all companies hiring new employees.

Reading is such a joy to many students, but to those who don't like, or can't read very well, it can be a heavy burden to carry. I like to introduce a student's favorite subject, such as animals, anime, or games in books. Soon, you can see a change in his or her attitude towards reading.
I've been a substitute teacher for 12 years. Over the years I have noticed that many students lack proper study skills, and their grades reflect this. Studying for a test can cause a lot of anxiety, but this anxiety can be reduced in several ways. Adopting a quiet and calm atmosphere is paramount for a student's success.
Vocabulary is part of every spelling test. Often, these words are longer and more difficult for a student to remember. There are several ways to help a child remember vocabulary spelling words.
Then there are the vocabulary words that are not part of a spelling list. Using a different word for writing the word "said" - for example - can help a student learn new words. A student can also use this method to improve his or her writing.
Writing is my favorite subject to tutor, as it involves all of the other subjects for which I am listed to teach. Writing can open new worlds for a student. Good writing will help in more ways than a student will realize now. By tutoring a child now, I will introduce the idea that good writing is the key to success in life, and of course, in class!
