Mark communicates clearly in ASL during tutoring sessions. He has tutored my child in Algebra 1/2. Mark is easy to reach via text message and email. He is prompt and reliable.
Mark was good at ASL but not a good special needs teacher as he claims in his tutor bio. He quit without giving me 24 hours notice, and I would not have known he was quitting, if I hadn't texted him the night before our morning tutor lesson. If I had not texted him the night before, I believe he just would not have shown up. He had all week to tell me he no longer wanted to teach my daughter and me ASL. During our last tutoring session, Mark did not even give me a clue that he was unhappy with our arrangement. I wanted to give him a chance because he was deaf. Out of the six lessons we had planned, he only made it to three. I told him before I hired him, my daughter needed consistency. Also, he waited two weeks before he billed me for his first tutor session. My experience was not good.
Daughter is a high school student taking her first community college course in ASL, thought he was very good teacher.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am going to teach kids the game of basketball, like copy me running, dribble moves, ball-handling,running laps, shoot long distances and playing horse game.

First I am going to teach you some techniques.
I taught the kids ranged in age from 5 to 11 years old at YMCA. Last summer I volunteered as camp counselor for Deaf and Hearing kids. There are many campers. I taught them with techniques for improving their game.
I have been working substitute teacher aide and teacher aide for three years. I first started working with special needs with children in k-6th.
In 2009, I was a substitute paraeducator at elementary I started tutoring American Sign Language for three-grade for a month.
First, I became a regular paraeducator for one to three grade Hearing Impaired students. I worked with them in a small group and individual work. I worked there for a year. Secondly, I started volunteering at Deaf school for couple of months then I got a job as Teacher Assistant with students in the fourth grade. I worked there for two years.
Therefore, I return to my former job as paraeducator substitute for k-6th. Now I am working with special needs such as Autism, Hearing Impaired, and Mild and Moderate.
I love my jobs so much.
