I have been a tutor on the side off and on for the past 11 years. I used to tutor in the Volunteer Literacy Program that was provided by my local library to help those who wanted to learn English and speak it right. The ones I have tutored have been working on learning English as their second language. The two I have helped spoke Spanish, were more fluent in Spanish but with the help of me and the booklets that were provided I was able to help them with their grammatical skills in English. They knew English but not enough; I was there to help them for a good few months.
I have also helped co-workers with their computer assignments regarding PowerPoint presentations, proofread their essays and/or assignments.
I have also helped 2 children, ages 7-9, with their homework by correcting and aiding them to finish their homework. My patience in helping others understand and learn has been noted from the first time I've helped my co-workers assignments when correcting spelling, grammar and rewording papers with better results. I don't do their homework;I suggest them alternatives with my help so that they can understand and have better knowledge in the English language and grammar. I do not hold a degree in teaching nor do I have a credential but I feel with my many experiences in various environments, patience and understanding, every student can learn better with the aid of my help.
I am also an avid writer and reader of all sorts. That has helped me better in many ways. In my grammatical and spelling skills, I have become better so that I can help others know how to hone down on their skills. I am no expert but I provide the best of my skills to help anyone who is in a beginner level of any subject but I am best in reading, writing, proofreading, spelling, simple mathematics up to Algebra 1.
