Hello My name is Carla.

I have always enjoyed sharing and learning about studies and new resources. I enjoyed giving lesson plans during my field work as a student teacher at Dominican University in San Rafael California. My experience was shown when I gave home school lesson plans to my family. I found the biology and anatomy sections best to be studied in separate sections. I enjoy having colored diagrams as examples. I encourage students to find meaningful pictures to demonstrate their personal connection to the subject.

My educational background is a B.A. degree from the Dominican University in San Rafael California. I have proofreading experience from my second degree in medical transcription field. I have learned work puzzles are very helpful to increase skills. I have been certified in anatomy, biology, vocabulary, proofreading and elementary science by the website. I hope you will join me in the pursuit of knowledge.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 2

I have home schooled algebra 2 to my family.
I will have the students complete step by step work from their text books showing their work.
I have math websites for extra worksheets to aide in difficult areas.

Anatomy

Human anatomy lessons available with medical terminology.

Art History

I have a B.A. from a Dominican University of San Rafael. Art history was a major focus point in this school. I have home schooled art history in the past. I have found online websites for a couple of groups that are interested in Art history.
This subject is also one of my favorite hobbies.

I can assist students in finding online information in Art history.

Ballet

I have studied ballet since I was ten years old. I entered the Academy of Dance in San Luis Obispo. I danced with the San Francisco school of ballet in San Rafael. My emphasis is on students learning the anatomy of their bodies and muscle coordination. I encourage the movement education methods that I learned at Dominican University in San Rafael. I enjoy seeing non competitive motion as opposed to staining ones body.

Biology

The study of life on earth has been one of my favorite subjects since my elementary school.

Elementary Science

The topics involve elementary biology, earth science, and observation skills.

Literature

Reading English literature increases reading pleasure. The historical periods are emphasized in my lessons.

Needlework

I have been in a quilting guild for four years where I have done many forms of needle work.
I have won a second prize ribbon during a local contest in 2010. I have obtained many patterns for students. I would like students to choose a subject close to their own characteristics.
I encourage the needle work crafts in recreation.

Networking (Computer)

I have networked by exchanging online information with individuals and groups such as MT desk, LinkedIn, and library links for ten years. I have obtained digital certificates from networking. I have knowledge of online etiquette, sending information from my folders, and finding new resources.

I will have students find networking resources according to their common goals, interests, and talents. I will give lessons in organizing information in folders, obtaining continuing education units, and finding networking links.

Physiology

Physiology is the study of the bodies systems. I encourage students to locate each system by colored charts and diagrams. I encourage greek roots in the beginning to aid in the medical terminology knowledge and studies.

Each system is studied separately to reduce stress in the learning process.

I encourage the students to have a fun experience in the physiology studies.

Proofreading

I have experience in tutoring proofreading skills in medical transcription as well as in English grammar.

Vocabulary

Elementary school vocabulary through medical terminology with an emphasis on greek roots.

World History

I have tutored my son in World history and European history in his high school. I am currently taking a course in Ancient building history with an A grade. I have taken Humanitarian classes at the Dominican University of California. I enjoy the World history topics and love to assist students in research of the historical topics.
