Math and Science fascinated me since my childhood days. I completed my Bachelors in Computer Engineering and got my Masters in Computer Sciences by the time I was 23 years old and went on to complete my MBA from UC Davis. I have a full time job and live and work in Folsom.
Tutoring is a hobby that I find very satisfying. Knowing that you are actually making a positive difference in a kid’s perception of his/her mathematical abilities is a reward in itself.
I have been tutoring for about 6 years now and have taught from elementary school to advanced calculus. I also have experience with taking entrance tests during the course of my education and have many tips and tricks up my sleeve to ensure success in the entrance tests.
What separates me from other tutors?
Most tutors out there simply teach - I tutor, and in my dictionary, there is a difference. When you teach, you do your job and repeat what the textbook says. Your job is done when your session is complete and you receive a pay check no matter what the outcome is. Which is why not everyone gets an A in the class but the teacher still gets a paycheck.
Tutoring, in my dictionary, is more student-focused. As a parent, your expectation of the tutor should be that the tutor has to know if the student has really understood the concepts and is comfortable with using them in a test. As a tutor, I do not believe my job is really complete if I don't get the reassurance from the student that he/she can apply the learnings in an exam. I've evolved my style of teaching to get us this reassurance. For this reason alone, all my students have shown an improvement in their grades after they started their tutoring with me. And yes, I have all the proofs and references you want.
You'll find me to be very thorough in my understanding of the subject matter, with an ability to really connect with your child and ensure he/she succeeds in her class. You'll find in me a tutor focused on grades, with a goal to improve them. We plan our path and follow our plan diligently.
