As a long-term professional educator, I always strive to share my world-class educational expertise and experience in science and mathematics with the student of today for tomorrow's workforce at the K-16 levels.
I am a chemistry major with a master's degree in chemistry and physics, and a doctorate degree in educational leadership, with a emphasis in STEM - science, technology, engineering, and mathematics - education. Though I majored in chemistry, I also have a strong foundation in mathematics, computer science, material sciences, and scientific and educational research.
I have been tutoring, mentoring, and teaching at the middle school to college levels, facilitating homework activities in math and science, science projects, and test-prep skills. I have experience teaching general chemistry, physical chemistry, organic chemistry, AP chemistry, regular high school chemistry, physics, algebra, geometry, precalculus, biology, biochemistry, earth and planetary science, and Spanish to public school school students, home-schoolers, and college students-professionals. I delight in facilitating hands-on STEM activities for homeschoolers, summer campers, and afterschool programs.
I have international and national teaching and leadership experience of over 12 years from being an educator in Africa, south and central America, Europe, and the US. Currently, I am the statewide science assessment specialist for the California Department of Education, in charge of all the statewide science assessments including CSTs, CMA, etc. As a state agent, I have ample experience with the current developments around science and mathematics education at both the state and national levels. I am also a college professor facilitating capacity building for California educators in various school districts.
