Hello! I am a native speaker of American English and a professional writer, editor, and teacher. I specialize in teaching adults, especially in writing, ESL, ESL speaking skills, reading, and English grammar. I have an M.A. in English with a certificate in Teaching English as a Second Language, and many years of classroom teaching, corporate training, and tutoring experience, with adults and children of all ages. I have taught ESL and English classes at UC Davis, CSUS, Sacramento City College, Cosumnes River College, and International Rescue Committee. I have also worked with students to help them prepare for university writing proficiency exams! In addition, I have years of corporate experience as a professional technical writer and editor. In my spare time, I enjoy writing fiction and poetry and participating in writers' groups.
My fees policy: Your first phone consultation with me is absolutely FREE of charge! This gives us the chance to discuss your tutoring needs, and the help I can offer. You can then decide if you'd like to set up a tutoring appointment. All in-person meetings and all additional writing critiques are charged my normal hourly rate.
