I am a native Arabic speaker who came to the US to pursue higher education in 2008. I graduated from Ohio with a Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling and have been in California for a year now to go for a PhD in Transpersonal Psychology. I love it! The human service & empowerment field is my passion and future career.
I tutored German & French when I was back home in the Middle East. While going for graduate school in OH, I tutored on campus, helping students with study skills, anxiety issues & cultural adaptation. I come from a multicultural background myself and have counseled people from diverse populations.
In addition to my teaching skills, I have experience as a therapist, working with groups and individuals of different ages dealing with various life issues. I worked as a counselor in the foster care system and currently being a life mentor in a women's center in the Bay Area.
This is in brief my background in teaching and human counseling. I combine in educating people several skills: fun to learn, co-creating, respecting and empowering the student, helping out with fear and anxiety, and being able to attend to special needs, in addition to my compassionate therapist spirit.
