Dr. S. taught pre-medical Chemistry, nursing Chemistry and Algebra at Dominican University in San Rafael California before starting her own business. She has been teaching and tutoring since 1979. As an educator, Dr. S. has dedicated herself and her company to making her understanding of the natural world accessible to young people, regardless of their previous experience. She is highly acclaimed for her innovative techniques designed to make even intricate and complex topics fun for teens and pre-teens. She has an innate understanding of what colleges need and recognizes the value of an early start. Her methods are unique and they work. She has worked as a Research Scientist and a Manufacturing Engineer and Application Chemist for Bio-Rad Laboratories and other smaller start-up companies in Silicon Valley. She held a Post Doctoral fellowship at University of Southern California and is a graduate of University of Auckland, New Zealand, Chemistry Department. Her hobbies are to travel and she used to fly light aircraft in New Zealand. She is adventurous and loves to introduce travel opportunities to her students.
