I am a seasoned business professional who has developed a love of learning and discovered a love of teaching along the way. My experience has included a wide range of business categories: commercial aerospace, mining, wholesale/retail, and manufacturing. In addition,I have also been a trainer and consultant to companies in areas related to customer service, organizational development, communications, team-building, and Total Quality Management. I have 13 grandchildren whom I have tutored from time to time in their school studies of math, English, literature, and history.
I believe the most successful outcomes occur when they are first, specifically defined and secondly, when a mutual trust and respect is developed between the student and the teacher. It would be my goal to have students learn not only the mechanics of any subject, but to develop the critical thinking processes to come to logical conclusions. One of the hardest math problems to solve is a word problem. Life is a word problem and critical thinking skills are essential to solving it. I would hope to instill a love of learning in each student, and for it to be an enjoyable experience.
