Although I currently work as a program specialist, I also have a BA in Spanish
, an MA in Teaching English
to Speakers of Other Languages and Intercultural Studies, an MEd in Special Education, and an MEd in Educational and Organizational Leadership. I am certified in CA as a resource specialist, single subject: Spanish and Business
, and Administrator. In IL, I have teaching certificates in Elementary, Secondary, and Administration; endorsements in Spanish, ESL
, Business, and Special Education.
Throughout the past 10 years, I have taught elementary, middle, and high school in subjects ranging from reading
to co-taught physics
, from Spanish to co-taught algebra
. I have experience with universal design for learning, curricular modifications, and I use a variety of multi-modal strategies to help students acquire concepts. I have studied several languages in order to improve my ability to reach non-native English learners.
I come from a family of engineers; although I have always loved and excelled in math
, what intrigued me beyond the concepts themselves was why so many students continued to struggle to understand the concepts. I try to make all of my instructional applications practical and understandable. I never give up on my students!
I am available to work weekends and typically meet at public libraries to get to know my students. Special tutoring assignments for test prep or special occasions are my specialty.
