My experience includes tutoring ESL to Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic and Polish English learners. I've also taught Vocational ESL and conversation classes to Iraqi refugees at the International Rescue Committee in El Cajon, California.
I have a Professional Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) from the Language Studies Department at the University of California San Diego. My Bachelor's degree is in Anthropology, including coursework in linguistics. I've worked in academic and private publishing, and in educational technology. I'm a current member of CATESOL (California Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages).
Having studied German and Spanish, I know what it's like to learn a new language. It's not easy, and it can be stressful, especially if you need English to pass a test or get a job. I always bring humor to my teaching, and I try to make it enjoyable and stress-free.
