I've been teaching for 25 years; Currently I'm a private music instructor in my own music studio in the City of Pinole, California.
I select my method based on the learning style and needs of the student. I finished a bachelor's degree in Music Theory at the University of Santo Tomas, Manila, Philippines.

Music Theory

Music Theory is what I majored in at school.

Since school, I've been tutoring this subject to my fellow students who needed help to understand a topic a little more. I also teach it to my students at the studio.

Composition (Music)

I have a submission made to the Copyright Office, Library of Congress, Washington D.C., of my first piano pieces entitled "The First Piano Collection." It's a collection of four short piano pieces for student level range of six to eight.

Ear Training

In my college years at the conservatory, ear training is part and parcel of a whole integrated curriculum. Therefore, every student is trained well in it, and the school puts a little more effort on making the composition and theory majors more skillful in tonal, intervalic, harmonic recognition.

Piano

As Theory/Composition majors, we are instructed in Piano as our major tool instrument. During my college years at Santo Tomas, they required us to reach and finish level 9, which I acccomplished. The highest level in their piano training system is level 12. At this time, I would say the highest level pieces that I can play would be: Reverie and Claire De Lune by Debussy; and one of Chopin's waltzes, which is in the key of Ab.

Sight Singing

In my college years at the conservatory, as a Theory major, sight-singing is part and parcel of a whole integrated curriculum. Therefore, every composition and theory major student is trained well in it.

Songwriting

I also submitted two of my popular style songs to the Copyright Office.
