I have teaching credentials for English, English as a Second Language, Social Sciences, Health Education, Elementary and Secondary Basic Skills, Office Occupations, Computer Applications and Employment skills for the Disabled (Handicapped). I have taught Computer Operations and Software Applications for the last 13 years in the Los Angeles Unified School District.
I have tutored students from fourth grade to high school seniors: Math, English (grammar, punctuation, spelling) for about two years with "Professional Tutors." I use practical proven methods in tutoring: mapping, scaffolding, etc. A student sometimes needs time to "think through" to find the answer. I am not an impatient tutor. Encouragement and the ability to convey it, is what I found to be one of the greatest tools in this pedagogy.
