Hi,
**PLEAE NOTE: I AM CURRENTLY NOT ACCEPTING ANY MORE NEW STUDENTS. I WILL UPDATE THIS POST WHEN THAT CHANGES. THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING.**
I am a master's student at UC Berkeley in Latin American Studies. If you are interested in learning Spanish, I can help you accomplish your goals! I have studied abroad at the Autonomous University of Yucatán (UADY) in Mexico (2004), volunteered in Puebla, Mexico (2006), lived two months in Puebla (2011), and traveled through several other states. Learning a language can open the door to so many amazing encounters and opportunities. I tutor adults as well as younger AP Spanish students (my AP Spanish 4 Exam score in 2002 was a 5).
My love for language learning was initially spurred by my early intercultural experiences as a Nisei (second-generation Japanese American). I graduated from the Asahi Gakuen Japanese school in Orange County (9 years of Saturday school) and am fluent in Japanese, although I'm not tutoring Japanese this year.
In each lesson, I strive to put into practice the idea that teachers and students must constantly learn from each other and revise their views. I am looking forward to meeting you soon!
Yuko
