I am a retired college professor with a Doctoral degree in Education. I have tutored students in everything from reading K-8 level to Excel, statistics, paper writing, and software programs.

I taught at Catholic school grades 1-8 for a year in all subjects except Math.

I taught Biology for two years in college. I also tutored Medical students while I was a Director at a Medical college. I also taught American History at St. Johns University for two years.

I have 15 years of experience teaching Excel, Access Word, Publisher, and PowerPoint.

I am an Expert in Excel and PowerPoint.

My specialties are American History, Geography, Biology, Reading, Writing, Basic Science, Ecology, and Test preparation.

I also teach Chess, Woodcarving, and Photography digital and SLR.

American History

I taught Discover New York, a core course at St. Johns University two years ago. I am a retired college professor now. I am also a Civil War buff and history enthusiast. I can help you understand American history and improve your course grade.

Guitar

I played guitar in a band called the "Hi-lites," in college. I played as a folk guitarist for many years after college.

I can play a 6 string guitar and a 12 string guitar. I have been playing a guitar for over 50 years. I started with lessons at age 12.

Religion

I took Survey of the Bible for 6 credits in college. I was also a Sunday school teacher for 11 years at my church.
I also volunteered to be a Layreader for 20 years and I also served as a Lay Minister in my church.
I have attended many bible retreats and also belong to Cursillo the religious retreat program and served on staff three times.

ESL/ESOL

I have worked with ESL students before in secondary school and helped them improve their reading and writing skills. I am a retired College Professor that can help you improve your grades.

I am a certified Web Master for 12 years and have created hundreds of web sites for colleges and universities.

Chess

I won the school chess contest in elementary school. I beat my father who taught me and my Physical Education teacher in 6th grade in Chess. It has been a life long love of the game.

Zoology

I taught Zoology for two semesters as part of General Biology in College. I also taught Zoology in adult education for several years.

Botany

I was a Botany and Biology Graduate teaching fellow for two years at Springfield College, Mass.

Tennis

I played tennis on a team in High school and college. I was a semi-pro tennis instructor for 8 years. I coached a high school tennis team for ten years and SUNY Purchase men's and women's college tennis team for three years.
I have tutored tennis and taught tennis to all levels of ability for over 30 years.

Adobe Photoshop

I have written several college curriculums for teaching Adobe Photoshop. I have used the program for 12 years and have taught it to over 160 professors at 4 different universities and colleges.

I am also a Professional Photographer with 30 years + experience with SLRs and digital SLRs.

Drawing

I am a self-taught artist having been drawing landscapes and cartoon characters for over 60 years.

Business

I ran my own business for 20 years and grossed $250,000 a year. I also developed a computer training business for 15 years "Doc' Computer PC and Mac training."

Photography

I have been a professional photographer for 40 years using SLRs and digital SLRs. I was a wedding photographer for 5 years and a School Yearbook photographer for 8 years.

I taught Photography in Adult Education and College courses.

Public Speaking

I won the NY State Public speaking contest in 1961.

I have done public presentations around the USA for over 15 years.

I am a trained College administrator for 12 years.

Career Development

I worked at BOCES in NY where I helped adults train in computer software and then placed them in jobs. I have mentored college students in securing jobs and building their careers.

Desktop Publishing

I have been using MS Publisher since 1995 when Microsoft first introduced it. I love the simple templates that save so much time in creating projects. I have tutored hundreds of students in desktop publishing with over 15 years of experience.

Dreamweaver

I have been teaching Dreamweaver for ten years at the College level at NYU, St. Johns Univ. and the College of Mount Saint Vincent, NY.

Macintosh

I have an iPad, an iMAC and a MAC air portable computers. I have taught people, students, teachers how to use MAC and its programs for 18 years now. I prefer MACs over PCs because of the stronger graphics programs and less freezing up of the computer.

I work on my iPad and iMac every day.

Lacrosse

I coached Lacrosse for four years in public school on the junior and high school level. I also taught it for 31 years in Physical Education when I was a Physical Education Teacher.
I started playing Lacrosse at age 14 in Long Island , New York.
I still have a lacrosse attack stick and ball and play with it often. I can show you all of the throwing and catching skills of lacrosse.
