I'm currently working towards finishing my last few credits to get my Bachelor's in Child Development and Learning. My end goal is a multiple subject credential with an emphasis in moderate/severe special needs. I have years of experience behind me working with regular classes as well as special needs classes. I have also worked a summer as an assistant teacher for at-risk and failing children. I personally was diagnosed with ADHD at age 4 and have learned numerous strategies to work around it in school. I was valedictorian of my high school, so my methods seem to have merit to them. I also have noticed that growing up with an often misunderstood disorder has made me extremely empathetic towards children, especially those with special needs. I understand more than most how hard school can be when your teachers and other students don't really understand or know how to help. I believe that every child has the potential to go far. Some just require more patience than others. I also believe having someone that truly cares can make a huge difference in the child's future view of school. I'm willing to go above and beyond for your child. Thank you for giving me the opportunity.
