Chemistry, Science, and Math are my strengths. Have done some Algebra Tutoring in College. My teaching has to this point has been to people in the Coatings Industry, teaching of the Los Angeles Society for Coatings Technologies Latex Paint class for 5 Fall Quarters. The people that took this class were QC Technicians, R & D Chemists, Chemical Salespeople, and various Plant Workers that wanted to increase their knowledge of how to formulate, test, and manufacture paints.
First job out of College with my BS in Biochemistry was as a Petroleum Engineer working for a Major Oil Company in an Oil Field which produced 20,000 BBL/Day of oil & 100,000 BBL/Day of Steam, responsible for Chemical: Analysis, Treatments, Purchasing, and Projects. Worked closely with all levels of employees from Contractors, Water & Gas Plant Operators, to Field Foremen and Engineers Went back to College after that and received a MS in Chemistry and a Concentration in Polymers and Coatings after which I worked in the Coatings Industry for almost 20 years, which included Aerospace Coatings (Paint for Airplanes- Solvent Based), Architectural Coatings (House Paint), Also Specialty Coatings & Plastic Colorants.
Also worked as a Technical Representative for a Buildings Materials Manufacturer on the Tech Line assisting and supplying information to customers to used out products properly. The people who called in ranged from Homeowners & Construction Workers to Architects and Sales People. The range of questions and levels of education were significant.
Understand the value of a good education and worked my way through college as a Cook, then later was hired part time to set up the Field Laboratory in the Oil Field which turned to full time upon graduation.
Seem to end up as a Problem Solver in my jobs and have normally been the guy to go to for Chemistry or Technical questions. I bring with my Education a basic understanding on what knowledge can be applied to in the real world.
