Hello! I'm Darcy R., and I enjoy helping students in grades K-12 better their grades and their confidence in a variety of subjects, from math to reading and writing. I've had success in the past with tutoring both children and adults--in one case, a student bettered her grade from a 'D' in algebra to an 'A.' I find tutoring a very rewarding endeavor for both students, parents and myself!
My philosophy of tutoring one-on-one is to meet the student where he or she is at. I've had experience assisting a range of personality types and ability levels; however, I ask that students do give their best effort and have a genuine desire to better their grades/performance. My methods of helping students include reviewing homework assignments and graded tests, and, if necessary, supplying supplemental worksheets and assignments pertinent to the coursework.
A little about me: I graduated from the University of Southern California in 2003 with a B.A. in English (American Literature) and a Minor in Cinema-TV Production from USC's Film School. Currently, I am a graduate student at Antioch University in Los Angeles studying to attain my Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology so I can open my own practice one day.
Thanks for reading, and I hope we can work together in the future!
