I am a first-year graduate student at UC Davis (M.S. Biostatistics). I hold a B.S. in Applied Mathematics with an Emphasis in Statistics from UCR. I worked for Sylvan Learning Center for 3 years, and before that I was a private tutor for 2 years. I am prompt, polite, professional and above all patient.
When tutoring a student, I first assess their learning style. After that, I identify where the student's issues lie with the subject material. I then break down any problem information into small, easily digested steps that are conducive to both comprehension and retention. I focus not only on helping my students understand information, but also helping my students form a pattern of study that allows them to be self-sufficient.
