After several years as a newspaper photographer in the San Francisco Bay Area, Steve started his own photography and graphic design business, which is currently based in downtown Davis, CA. Throughout his career, he has provided creative services for a number of industries and small businesses, and has conducted photography workshops in the Bay Area and Sacramento regions.
Since graduating from California State University - Sacramento with a BA in Documentary Studies, Steve has divided his time working on documentary projects that have been exhibited throughout Northern California. He is also a devoted father, well-rounded athlete, avid outdoorsman, and active member in his community, volunteering his time and skills. For instance, throughout his children’s elementary school years he has volunteered in their classrooms, coached their softball teams, and has been a chaperone and nature guide on hikes and camping trips with his daughters Girl Scout troops. His most recent volunteer roles has been as an adult literacy tutor with the Yolo County Library, Civics Arts Commissioner for the City of Davis, and stewardship volunteer for Putah Creek Council.
As a para-educator, tutor, and sport coach, Steve subscribes to a mindful and cooperative way of relating and engaging his pupils. He believes that each individual has a unique mind and special talents that needs to be nurtured in order to fulfill their full potential.
