Hello! My name is Charlie. I have been tutoring and teaching students since the year 2000. I have had my own classes with various school districts and have a California Teaching Credential (30-day Emergency Credential). Helping students learn, particularly on a one-on-one basis is a passion of mine. I feel very strong about this process and know that it can be absolutely essential to the successful progress of individual young learners. These days in many school environments, particularly public school classrooms are over-crowded and it is such a challenge if not impossible for a teacher to spend time helping the individual student. Often a simple learning concept will be missed by a student and this will hinder their scholastic progress as that learning step is a key to the next step. Tutoring can help "fill in the gaps" and help the student "connect the dots" as they rebuild their confidence in their learning progress.

I look forward to helping your sons and daughters achieve their educational goals while learning tools and lessons to help them navigate successfully in today's world.

ADD and ADHD are very prevalent in our society these days. I believe there are many factors contributing to this epidemic, and there are also many strategies available to help your child relax and get focused in order to integrate the lessons. I have worked extensively with students from kindergarten through high school who were diagnosed as ADD/ADHD and I have great success helping these students learn.

One of my teaching /tutoring experiences was for 7 months working daily with students from age six to age fourteen who had learning disabilities (including ADD/ADHD). I also worked a season with high school RSP students guiding them through their fundamental subjects, working in groups and one-on-one, to build their skills.

As their RSP teacher, I helped these students gain confidence in their abilities and increase their motivation to learn and as a result, their grades raised substantially. It takes a special kind of teacher who has patience, experience and intuition to help the ADD/ADHD child. Each student has different learning styles, i.e. visual, auditory, kinesthetic, or a combination of these. A great teacher/tutor will be able to discover which of these learning styles is the key to your child's accelerated learning.

To your child's progress!

Adobe Photoshop

I have been working with Photoshop since 1992. It is a great photo manipulation program and works great when used with Adobe Lightroom.

To visual creativity!

Elementary (K-6th)

The elementary school years are so important to creating the essential foundation for your child’s learning. I know, I have been a fully employed teacher with my own classes working in public and charters schools in Southern California. I have a passion for helping students accelerate their scholastic progress, and seeing this process unfold throughout the year is exciting!
With growing classroom size in so many schools, individualized assistance is an essential for some students. I have years of experience in working with students one-on-one to help determine the student’s personal learning style, i.e. whether it is visual, auditory or kinesthetic or a combination of these. Discovering this and employing a tutoring approach that supports your student’s learning style is my philosophy of teaching elementary age students. I have a great track record of success and so do the students I have tutored! Let’s get started!

I was a Communication major at CSUF and graduated with honors. I have taught high school English and language arts since 2000 and have tutored many students in the art of essay writing. Having helped students move from low "C" grades to "As" has been very rewarding!

Study Skills

I have tutored students successfully in improving their study skills. Most of my students have raised two grade levels after a series of tutoring sessions. I focus on overview of education materials, how to create excellent study habits, comprehensible, clear note-taking and more. Parents are please with the results and the students have higher self-esteem and a happier outlook on their studies.
