Hello!
My name is Patrick R. and I'm a Los Angeles-based writer by way of Chicago. Originally in school to become a secondary education history teacher, my life has led me down a path of rich experiences in a wide variety of fields. I've worked as a ranch hand while growing up in Wyoming, a money manager and futures trader for the better part of 15 years in Chicago, and even served as Russian linguist for the U.S. Army Special Forces!
While serving as an airborne special operations soldier, I spent three years living in Europe brushing up on my Russian and German. I deployed all over the world on overt and covert missions, traveling to some 30 countries including Africa and Russia.
I received my Bachelor's in History at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and my Master's in Russian linguistics at the University of Illinois Chicago and since 2007 I've been living and working as a writer with representation in Los Angeles.
Since that time, I've optioned two films and produced on another film that aired on the Lifetime network. However, recently one of my most eye-opening projects was writing and directing a documentary that followed 9th graders throughout the course of an entire school year to see the challenges and changes they face.
I think my unique blend of skills and experiences make me a valuable asset when it comes to learning in several fields. I look forward to seeing how I can help you!
