I have been in the graphics industry for 20 years and am a digital media print instructor currently teaching Adobe Photoshop, Indesign & Illustrator at Palos Verdes Art Center evening programs quarterly.
Since 1986 my professional experience has been in both traditional and computer graphics for handling a variety of responsibilities within a corporate creative and teaching environment. My creative experience is in advertising, publications for digital print media, and direct mail, to corporate identity for point of sale merchandise.
This is combined with 20 years' experience in visual communications, a BFA in Fine Arts from Cal-State University Los Angeles, and 12 years prepress on both Apple and Microsoft Windows systems. I received my computer graphics training in 1990 from one of the leading digital media schools, as well as on the job training. I have continued to expand my creative ability, teaching computer graphics for 15 years in print, web and pre-press output for camera-ready art.
The demand for instructors to pass along there experience to youthful and mature talent is vital. This focus helps carry out the elements of design and layout within a digital media environment. Furthermore, my industry capabilities and technical training contribute in a productive way in helping students to achieve their career goals.
For the past 15 years, I have supported non-profit organizations, by preparing marketing and advertising strategies with media ranging from banners, posters, stationery to brochures, website design, illustrations and onscreen presentations.
I believe to educate a person for life is very beneficial for those who are trying to meet their needs in the long run to the creative process.
Sincerely,
Don
