I am a full-time tutor with over 1250 hours of experience just with WyzAnt. This is not my second job or an opportunity to make extra money for college; this is my profession. It allows me to be more reliable, consistent, and flexible with my scheduling. It also allows me to form long-term commitments with my clients' families.
I tutor most branches of Mathematics including Prealgebra, Algebra 1 (Elementary Algebra), Algebra 2 (Intermediate Algebra), Geometry, Precalculus, Trigonometry, Statistics, and Calculus. I am familiar with the ALEKS (Assessment and Learning in Knowledge Spaces) web-based learning program for Geometry.
I also tutor the main Science classes - Chemistry, Physics, and the different branches of Biology (Biology, Anatomy, and Physiology).
In addition, I prepare students for standardized tests including the CAHSEE, PSAT, GED, ASVAB, ACT, and SAT (all three parts – SAT Math, SAT Reading, and SAT Writing).
Finally, I tutor Social Science (American History, World History, Economics, Government & Politics, and Geography); English (English, Grammar, Literature, and Vocabulary); and introductory Spanish classes.
During the last 10 years, I have also mentored and tutored low-income students with an after-school program in Los Angeles. Furthermore, I have tutored homeless children through the School on Wheels organization and have volunteered as a tutor with my local Recreation Center. For each position, I have been fingerprinted and Live Scanned.
I am local to the Culver City and Oceanside areas but I have and am willing to travel throughout Southern California, including Los Angeles, Orange, and San Diego counties. I have had previous clients in Aliso Viejo, Beverly Hills, Buena Park, Carson, Cerritos, Culver City, Eagle Rock, El Cajon, El Segundo, Gardena, Hawthrone, Inglewood, La Mirada, Malibu, Marina Del Rey, Oceanside, Pacific Palisades, Pacoima, Porter Ranch, Santa Ana, Santa Monica, Sherman Oaks, Studio City, Torrance, Vista, Westchester, West Hills, and Whittier.
