Hello there! My name is Karen A. I am currently a student at The California Polytechnic University Pomona where I am obtaining a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Spanish. I also plan on obtaining a teaching credential to teach Spanish and elementary students.
I was born to a Peruvian dad and a Mexican mother.I am fluent in Spanish as it was my first language. In high school I took the Advanced Placement test in Spanish and received a perfect score of 5. I went on to take two courses at the Southern California School of Interpretation to become a court interpreter and am just one more class away from finishing.
While I was in high school I was also a peer tutor. There I focused on tutoring Spanish, Math, English and various other subjects. I love teaching and helping others learn. I also have volunteered at my local YMCA where I helped K-6th grade kids understand and complete all their homework. I know that kids all have different ways of learning, so I like to cater to whatever the student needs. Whether it is explaining, demonstrating, repeating, or collaborating. I am ready and excited to start working with you all!
