Hi everyone!
I have been a private tutor for over five years, teaching first through fifth graders, high schoolers, and college students. I started tutoring when I was in my sophomore year of college, and have expanded my subject range significantly. I graduated from Chapman University in May 2011, with a dual degree in Psychology and Ethnographic Documentary. During my undergraduate studies, I conducted several large scale research projects that were published and presented at conferences. Currently, I am enrolled in a Master's program, studying Visual Anthropology. I will graduate with this degree by October 2013.
I was born and raised in Germany, but have lived in the U.S. for over eight years. I have also lived in Argentina and Spain. I speak English, German, and Spanish completely fluently and accent-free and love tutoring these languages. Furthermore, having my own experiences studying foreign languages, I can relate very well to people who might be struggling and need someone to give them creative explanations and develop efficient learning strategies. In addition to these three languages, I also tutor Statistics, Psychology, SAT, GED, and TOEFL test prep. Aside from private tutoring, I have also worked for Test Prep centers, gaining varied experience teaching how to best prepare for these standardized tests. Lastly, I have also been tutoring children from first through fifth grade, staying with the same families for over four years. If you would like to read a recommendation, please contact me and I will send it to you.
I believe that I will be able to help you catch up with classes, learn new things, and make the lessons fun. I have worked with many different students, ages 3 to 54, and everyone needs a different approach. I immensely enjoy teaching, it is a great passion of mine to find a way to explain difficult concepts in creative ways.
I hope you decide to choose me as your tutor,
Thank you,
Josefine
