I have a lot of experience in teaching English as a second language. I taught English in a classroom setting and as a private teacher, one on one or with small groups of students. I am very patient and tactful, but I always make sure that my students understand the lesson and go home not just with new information in their heads, but with new skills they can use. I also believe in extensive use of technology (except for spellcheck).
Currently, I am enrolled at Long Beach University and I am planning to major in linguistics. This will allow me to pursue my career as an ESL instructor at a community college. I also believe that tutoring should be considered not only by parents of underachieving students but also by those who do well at school but not sure if school material is enough for further education.
