I have always loved languages. Ever since I have been able to take a foreign language, I have been obsessed. I realize not everyone has the passion that I posses. That is where I come in. I like to have fun teaching, while keeping the material and content appropriate. I believe if you make it interesting, they will want to learn! I also like to utilize various tools and mediums while teaching. Helpful tools such as charts and "cheat sheets" can go a long way when teaching a foreign language--it is always good to have a reference tool! Incorporating media into the mix keeps it interesting and engaging (movies, songs, etc.).
I have been studying Spanish for nine years now, and have studied French for four. My passion for language has led me to travel to over 9 countries, and study abroad twice in both Spain and France where I lived with local families. I also have a background in teaching, having taken quite a few courses at Michigan State University. I have experience aiding in a classroom as well as providing one-on-one tutoring. I most recently helped develop an interpretation course for a local community college.
Everyone has the ability to succeed if given the chance, you just need to spark an interest.
