If your child is in need of some supplemental instruction in Math, Spelling, Reading, or Writing, I can provide individualized instruction that will bring about an increase in knowledge and understanding, as well as an improved level of confidence.

I work one-on-one with each student and teach skills to heighten test taking strategies and memory tactics that will assist him/her in the ability to retain information more efficiently. We will be working on the child’s present curriculum and will occasionally go beyond the current teaching, so as to create a foundation for the skills that will be taught next. I challenge all of my students to work to their highest potential, and I provide supplemental work that parallels what they are working on in the classroom. For more advanced students, I supply higher-level work to keep them challenged and engaged.

I have over twenty-five years of experience educating children of different ages and abilities. I have been employed by the Oakland Unified School District since 1999. Throughout the years, I have had the opportunity to work with numerous children with special needs, including ADHD, autism, and a realm of learning disorders. I am very dedicated to the development of young minds, and I am passionate about helping children develop their skills to their utmost capability. I believe in challenging children, and in doing so without causing them to become frustrated and/or feel incompetent. My goal is to assist parents and teachers in bringing children to the level that is expected of them and, if possible, to exceed expectations and skill-level requirements.
