I have been helping others to learn since I was in school. I have tutored or developed lessons to help people learn topics such as algebra, electronics, and the Bible. My occupation has been as a technical trainer over the past 30 years. I enjoy Jeopardy, math and logic puzzles, and reading. I look forward to helping people to learn new subjects and overcoming their fears regarding learning and testing.
My background includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and a Masters in Business Administration, plus various courses in data processing, programming, technical training and electronics. While I have had some German, and have worked in Germany for Siemens, I do not consider myself fluent in German. My response is usually "nur ein bisschen" (only a little) when asked if I speak German.
When tutoring, I seek to begin with what the student knows and use the required textbook and additional materials to build on that knowledge, plus informal tests and quizzes to check on the learning.
