I am an enthusiastic teacher looking to help students of all ages in my community achieve their academic goals. I have experience teaching students from different cultures and backgrounds, especially those from lower income areas. Thus, I have a good understanding of what students nowadays might struggle with. In addition, I am also able to help others improve their study skills, as well as teach the social sciences. I have a passion for reaching out to students and guiding them to a better future, which is why I chose a career in this field.
I have spent at least six months tutoring math and English to elementary school students of different learning levels when I was in high school. I saw a lot of progress in their learning over the six months that I was there. I also had the wonderful privilege of sending my teaching skills to Asia, where I taught English to both middle school and high school students from both wealthy and not so wealthy areas. I had the chance to strengthen my students' writing, speaking, and listening skills through various methods of teaching. While I was there, I also helped adults improve their English language skills. It was a valuable experience that helped me become an even better teacher than I had imagined.
When I tutor individual students, I do my best to assess their needs, their learning styles, and their ultimate goals. Then, I develop a lesson plan suited to the students' abilities. I understand that everybody learns differently and at their own pace. Patience and understanding is one of the most important aspects of being a great teacher, which is what I strive to be every day.
