I have always wanted to be a teacher and have taken every opportunity to work with students. I enjoy making learning fun and relevant to the students personal lives when possible. Some of my experience includes 2+ years as a substitute teaching K-12th in a variety of settings and subject matter, teaching summer school (Math and English) to upcoming 4th graders, tutoring for 2+ years, and 3 years as Director of Education for a Sylvan Learning Center. I currently hold an A.A. in general studies, B.S. in Education, and Multiple Subject Teaching Credential for Oregon and California.
I have worked with high school students in preparation for the SAT. My focus area was test taking strategies specific to the SAT and writing. My Credential training makes me equipped for any subjects at the elementary/junior high level. However, I do have much experience working with high school students as well. My goal when working with students is to not only help them understand the subject matter at hand, but also motivate them and encourage personal and academic goals.
Other areas I have expertise in are soccer and athletic training. I have played soccer for 22 years. These years include recreational and competitive leagues. I have been the captains of most of these teams and played Class 1, Class 3, and 4 years of college. I also have basic knowledge to teach track and field, salsa dancing, and photography.
I welcome feedback from guardians and students. I make every effort to be flexible with families. I have a 3 hour cancellation policy and flexible with rate of pay for families located in Ceres, CA. I am happy to work in any public location such as a library or coffee house. I am also open to work in the home if both parties are comfortable.
I look forward to working with you and partnering to help you meet your goals.
