I am an Ivy League graduate, majoring in Fine Arts with a minor in English. My tutoring abilities would include students from elementary to beginning High School ages, in subjects ranging from English, Math, American History and Art. As a note of interest, before college, I studied in England for a year taking my A-levels in Calculus, French, English and Art. I am well educated.
In the past year I have tutored High School students, who ended up testing in the 90 percentile. I have also tutored 3rd and 4th graders in Math, helping to accelerate their understanding. I am detailed, thorough, organized, fun and patient. I will change approaches to study, if one way doesn't seem effective, as every student is unique and absorbs information differently. I will do whatever I can to help the student grow in his or her understanding of the subject and to incite interest.
I also raised two children who attended schools in the Carmel Unified School District. My daughter just graduated from UCLA, with honors, and my son is presently attending the University of Oregon. I include this information as I feel it demonstrates my belief in education and my desire to see children succeed.
