Results-Oriented Elementary and Middle School Tutor

My background is in child development and education. I hold a bachelors degree in Psychology from Wellesley College and a Master of Education degree from Harvard University.

There are many types of learners. As a parent and tutor, I feel it is important to adapt my lessons to fit the individual learning needs of my students. To me, helping make sure students meet the state and national standards for their grade level are equally as important as helping them become curious and critical thinkers. I believe in finding ways to ensure material learned is meaningful and relevant to their lives and guiding children so that they will be discoverers of knowledge by themselves.

I am also a former Division III All-American Tennis Player and I love to teach tennis to aspiring players of all ages!

Elementary (K-6th)

I hold a bachelors degree in Developmental Psychology and a masters degree in Education. I have taught children at the preschool level and tutored children in grades K-6.

Phonics

I have worked extensively in elementary school classrooms (k-4) in phonics instruction, sight words, and reading comprehension strategies. I have also created a phonics course for beginning readers which I am happy to submit upon request.

Tennis

I have played tennis for over 30 years and competed at the high school, college, and post-graduate levels. I have earned All-State honors in high school and hold a State Championship in doubles. I also earned All-American honors in college with a top-ranking in the country. I taught children of all ages how to play tennis throughout high school and college.
