I am well-versed in working with students with special needs and with adults. Having experience with developmentally disabled youngsters and foster children with educational issues and behavioral challenges including ADD/ADHD gives me a unique perspective. Patience, an open mind, and creativity can help to focus and redirect attention in order to facilitate learning.

I am a trained speaker and group facilitator with over 10 years' experience in front of audiences of all sizes and ages in both casual and professional settings. Presentations have lasted anywhere from a few minutes to full day sessions. I have also been involved in interviews for print media as well as television and radio and have also participated in the Toastmasters public speaking group as well. I am well equipped to help others gain the confidence to speak in front of an audience.
I am an avid reader and carry a book with me at all times. I read to learn and read for recreation. I welcome the opportunity to help students of all ages broaden their capabilities so they too can appreciate and enjoy this critical skill.
I have extensive experience working with children with a variety of special needs, particularly children with medical issues and developmental disabilities. With a master's degree in Health Sciences, I am familiar with the educational challenges associated with chronic illness and/or hospitalization which may keep a child out of the classroom. I am calm and patient, yet firm and persistent in my approach to homework help.
I have experience working with students of all ages and helping them create a good study environment. Learning how to organize materials and make a plan is important. I am good at time management and helping students get a grip on what is important. Helping a child learn to focus and working with their strengths is a key developing good study skills.
