"Field of Dreams" had it right. Twenty-three years later, baseball remains America's true pastime. More than any other, it's the game that is passed from one generation to the next. Most of us grow up playing catch with our fathers and decades later return the favor to our own children.
Above all else, baseball is a wonderful game to learn. It teaches patience and concentration. It demands discipline. But it also introduces people to a special camaraderie that is unique to the sport. Riding buses to opposing towns and sharing the dugout with one's peers are some of the most affecting bonding moments in a young person's life.
Like many of us, I grew up playing baseball with my dad and became attached to the game. Before long I was competing in little league, summer camp leagues, high school, college intramurals, and even adult leagues. I found my greatest success as a pitcher and first baseman, though I've at various ages played every position on the field. I throw left and bat right.
I've also coached baseball at all levels, working with kids from seven to seventeen. I have taught basic fundamentals to those new to the game, as well as strategy and complex drills for those more familiar. I believe practice makes perfect and the more time you spend playing, the better you will become.
Although summer has ended, wonderful California weather allows people to play baseball year round. There's no better time to start improving than right now, six months before the start of a new season.
Whether you are a newcomer looking for someone to teach this great game or merely an individual hoping to have a catch in the park, I'd be happy to accommodate your needs and help you complete your personal goals.
I look forward to meeting you
Basketball is the greatest recreational sport in the world and a wonderful game to learn. You can find a pick up game on any court at almost any time, and it's tremendous exercise. I grew up playing basketball with my siblings before competing in town organizations. I played in middle school, high school, and competitive intramurals in college.
I've also coached basketball in middle school, local leagues, and at summer camp for years, working with children ages 5-18. I have taught basic fundamentals to those new to the game, as well as strategy and complex drills for those more familiar.
I believe practice makes perfect and the more time you spend playing, the better you will become. Whether you are looking for someone to teach this great game or merely an individual to scrimmage against, I'd be happy to accomodate your needs and help you complete your goals.
I look forward to meeting you
I learned chess with my grandfather at an early age and have played the game ever since. Great patience is required to become good at it and to teach it. But it's a wonderful activity that demands careful thinking and rewards smart decision making. I can educate those new to the game on strategy, as well as basics such as the names of the pieces and how they move. For those more familiar, I'd be happy to discuss the game and play as often as you like, as the more you practice the faster you'll improve.
I look forward to meeting you.
College counseling is an ever growing resource for millions of high school students every year. The application process, and in particular the numerous essays often required for college submissions, can be a daunting task. That's why it's so important to reach out for additional help from experienced professionals who are familiar with the process.
Hi, my name is Zach. I live in Campbell and have been a private kid coach for almost a decade. While certified in a wide variety of subjects, my primary areas of focus have always been writing and organization, for which I've found all students benefit from extra support. This is particularly true of high school students. I've also worked with a number of high school juniors and seniors on their college applications.
I've long excelled as a writer and understand the value of adding a personal touch to your essay. I am also very familiar with the structure needed to make an impression on admissions officers. While going through my own college application process, I had the benefit of working with a knowledgable college counselor who helped me find the perfect school for me. I'd love the opportunity to do the same for you.
I also have a background in psychology which allows me to quickly learn a lot about a student, how they respond to others socially, how independent they are, and which areas of life are most important to them. These questions form the heart of nearly every college application and represent the best opportunities for each student to stand apart from their peers. I am an excellent listener, a strong communicator, and a reliable judge of character. As a kid coach for years, I've worked with students of all ages with preperation, helping them prioritize their daily work schedules beginning with the most important areas.
Using all of these skills, I know we can work together to make your college applications everything the university of your choice is looking for. I also offer flexible hours and below average rates for this type of work.
Thank you so much for your consideration and best of luck. I hope to hear from you soon.
Elementary school is a primary period of growth for any child. It's the time when they begin to seriously explore their likes and dislikes, forge lifelong friendships, and develop educational skills that will last forever. They will quickly learn whether their favorite class is English, math, social studies, history, music, art, or gym. And it's up to the adults in their lives to help foster these interests and encourage participation and enthusiasm. This responsibility is shared by parents, teachers, coaches, and tutors. It is an important job to say the least.
My name is Zach and I have worked in the educational system for years. I began as a substitute before becoming a co-teacher, and finally the head transition kindergarten teacher at a private school. I have worked as a summer camp counselor, a professional kid coach, a sports instructor, and for several years now as a tutor. I have experience both in a classroom environment and as a private instructor, but I prefer the latter.
Working one-on-one with a student allows the greatest opportunity for growth, both socially and intellectually. I've remained in close contact with families whose children I've helped over the years, a connection that only becomes stronger over time. I also have two younger brothers and dozens of young cousins who I remain very close with to this day.
I believe in patience, understanding, and listening. Every child is unique and no two have exactly the same needs. But I will do my very best to work with you in a way that most benefits your child, including keeping in contact with you before and after sessions to discuss their progress.
Whether it's help with reading or writing, math or spelling, relating to peers, or merely wanting someone to hang out with and play catch, I can fill any and all of these needs.
Thank you so much for your consideration. I look forward to hearing from you.
Poker is a mental game rooted in psychology and math. To be successful you must understand the tendencies of your opponent, differentiate strength from weakness, and know when to take calculated risks. It's a game of smarts and bankroll management, and in the long run the more prepared player will almost always come out ahead.
I have been a successful poker player for ten years now and it would be my pleasure to help you become the same. Whether you are a new player learning the basics or an experienced shark making the leap, I will introduce fresh stategies, identify poker tells, and compete with you to bring your game to a higher level.
I have worked as an educator, kid coach, and private tutor for nearly a decade. Developing effective study habits has been a focus of my one-on-one work for many years. Every child is unique and brings a different set of behaviors and challenges when it comes to studying, whether it's for a final exam or merely a nightly homework assignment. I will help address these concerns in a manner that most benefits the student.
