As a multi-instrument musician/instructor I have a wide and varied, broadbased background and skill set as the result of my education and experience. My teaching methodology is a customized approach, utilizing an analysis of the students primary learning style combined with detailed awareness of the student/parents goals.
In addition to learning to play Guitar, Saxophone and Flute in and throughout Elementary, Middle and High Schools, I received additional training concurrently with private lessons and at the Honsinger Conservatory of Music in Michigan on a full scholarship. My curriculum at the Conservatory included: Wind Ensemble performances, Music Theory, Ear Training, Composition, Virtuoso Studies, Saxophone, Flute, and Clarinet. I also began my professional career as a Sophmore in High School and performed with many Recording Artists such as James Brown, Al Green and Leonard B. Smith (Conductor/Detroit Philharmonic).
As a college student (Delta College, Michigan) I continued with courses in Stage Band (performance), Orchestra, Piano, Woodwinds, Percussion, Music Theory, Music Appreciation/History, Ear Training, and Sight-Singing.
My professional career experience includes: Studio Recording, Music Arranging, Music Instruction, Artist Management and Production Coordination. The Recording Artist clients in my current and former rosters include: Ike Turner Jr., Cuba Gooding Sr., The Dramatics, Ray Parker Jr., The Intruders, Al B. Sure Jr. and Brenton Wood.
Currently, I hold a Masters Degree in Business Administration and Business Consultant in the Music Industry. My interests include Chess, Martial Arts, Reading (Science Fiction) and Natural Health Therapy. I have been happily married for 19 years and am father to 4 and grandfather to 3.
