Greetings!
I have an MA degree in English with an emphasis in Literature from San Francisco State University and am passionate about writing and education. I have been tutoring and teaching young people of all ages from diverse backgrounds for many years in the subjects of English and Language Arts, specializing in building reading, writing, and research skills. In the past, I have helped younger students work on their reading comprehension, grammar, and spelling skills, fostering a love of literature and self expression through writing. I have assisted high school and college students with everything from advanced reading comprehension, to research methods and expository essay writing, to test preparation, time management, and study skills.
As far as my credentials go, I have over seven years of analytical reading, writing, and research experience, ranging from high school to graduate level. I also have more than ten years of experience working with children and young people, and have tutored high level learners in addition to children with learning disabilities. My schedule is typically flexible and I am a very patient, easy-going professional who genuinely cares about the advancement of those eager to learn and excel in their studies and scholarly pursuits.
