Hello, my name is Saima. I am interested in helping those who are struggling with their education. I graduated with my Bachelors in Psychology this past year. Currently, I am enrolled in a masters program for Educational Therapy. Education is my passion. I am a Sunday School teacher and I have been a volunteer literacy tutor for 2 years now (for kids and adults). I also worked for an after-school program for LAUSD in which one of the jobs was homework help. I have a lot of experience with kids. I also volunteered helping kids with various disabilities and I am currently a behavior interventionist with a behavioral company (focusing on autism spectrum disorders). I understand that everyone has a different learning style and I will adjust to yours as I see fit. Having one-on-one help gives you the chance to explore your own learning style and be successful. Elementary (K-6th)

I have experience teaching kids in grades K-6 in all subjects. I have worked for an afterschool program with LAUSD and one of the rotations was homework help (elementary school). I have also volunteered at the Child Development Institute in Canoga Park for a year so I have a lot of experience working with this age group. I am also a Sunday School teacher for 1st and 2nd grade.

Phonics

I prove help with reading and writing. I have been a volunteer literacy tutor for the past 2 years at the Burbank Public Library. You need to take a 15 hour course to become certified. I am certified to work with both adults and kids.

Special Needs

I have been helping students with special needs in various subjects for K-6. I have volunteered at Lowmans Elementary school with L.A's Best afterschool program. Lowmans is a school for students who have various disabilities (serves elementary level kids - age 21). I also have experience as a behavior interventionist for kids on the autism spectrum.

Autism

I have been helping elementary level students who have autism in various subjects. I am currently a behavior interventionist at a behavioral company and I work with kids on the autism spectrum.
