I'm a Los Angeles, California native, and begin my training with Shidoshi P.S. Wimberly, 1994. Five and a half years later, I attained my 1st Degree Black Belt. I achieved the rank of 3rd Degree Black Belt in Kenpo in 2005. In 2006, I was elevated to the esteemed position of SENSEI. I parted ways with my teacher in late 2007. In February of 2012, I joined the Ohana Kenpo Karate Association, founded by American Kenpo Senior Professor, and 7th Degree Black Belt, Mr. Rich Hale. I am presently a student under Mr. Hale, learning the "mother art
," (as I refer to it) of American Kenpo Karate. No longer a "Kenpo Ronin," my desire to train in the direct legacy of American Kenpo originator, the late Sr. Grandmaster Edmund K. Parker, is now being fulfilled.
I am also the certified affiliate representative of Bahala Na® Martial Arts
in the Los Angeles area, under the direction of Grandmaster Tony Somera. I teach the blade based martial art of Giron® Arnis Escrima, which is composed of 20 different styles of fighting, ranging from sword, to stick, to knife, to empty hand. In 2007, Grandmaster Somera certified me as the Bahala Na® Affiliate representative for the Los Angeles area. As a senior student, I continue to work towards graduation from the Giron® System with the assistance Master Kirk McCune, and Master Joel Juanitas and Grandmaster Tony, of Stockton, CA.
Always the sponge for martial arts knowledge, I take every opportunity to learn from other martial artists, through workshops and seminars. Through the generosity of these individuals in sharing their knowledge, I been privileged to have trained with some of the most skilled teachers on the planet. March, 2013 will mark the completion of 19 years in the martial arts me. I am a personable, experienced, and skilled martial artist and teacher. My goal is to be able to give you, the student "E to the 3"...aka... an EMPOWERED SPIRIT, and ENLIGHTENED MIND, and and ENABLED BODY.
