Hi my name is Kent. I'm a proud Gaucho (UCSB) alumni with a bachelors in Linguistics (with Sociocultural Emphasis). I've had my fair share of experience working with children. I started by teaching the children of Santa Barbara and Ventura Counties about all sorts of lung diseases through the American Lung Association's Santa Barbara Chapter. I then went on to pursue tutoring through a government funded program, 1-on-1 Learning with Laptops. I tutored children grade levels 1st through 8th grade. After my contract ended with that company, I was fortunate enough to be accepted as Substitute Instructional Aide through the city of Burbank's Unified School District. I am quite amiable, friendly and flexible. I can adjust my schedule accordingly to your (or child's) daily schedule. I look forward to working with you and help achieve your goals.

Algebra 1

I have prior experience tutoring children from grade levels 1st through 8th in the areas of Math and English through a program called 1-on-1 Learning with Laptops. I have also worked as an Instructional Aide through the Burbank Unified School District, yet it was a on-call position. I am confident that I will be able to cater to your son or daughter's needs.

Prealgebra

I have previous experience tutoring Pre-Algebra. I used to work for a tutoring program called 1-on-1 Learning with Laptops. I would tutor kids grade levels from 1st to 8th in Math and Science. Occasionally some high school kids. I feel confident that I can cater to your tutoring needs.

Spanish

I'm a fluent Spanish speaker. I learned to speak Spanish ever since I first learned to talk. My parents are both Peruvians. I took AP Spanish in high school and got a 5 on the exam. The AP Spanish helped me learn the grammar involved in Spanish. I feel confident that I could be a great help to your son or daughter.

English

I learned the language simultaneously as I learned Spanish. I first learned Spanish on behalf of my parents. I understand what it feels like to struggle with a language. I remember I had a hard time learning English but I was able to pick it up. I'm confident enough to be able to help you out with all your needs.

Elementary Math

I have experience tutoring children in Elementary Math through a government program known as 1-on-1 Learning with Laptops. I'm also an instructional aide through the Burbank Unified School District. I am confident that I can tutor your child in a one-on-one based environment.

Elementary (K-6th)

I used to tutor children from grade level first through 8th with program called 1-on-1 Learning with Laptops. I also worked as an Instructional Aide on behalf of the Burbank Unified School District. It was an on-call job position but I still got experience working with young children. I am confident that I'll be able to cater to your son or daughter's needs.

QuickBooks

As of recently I took a certification class for beginning QuickBooks Pro 2012. If there are people out there who are stumbling on how to use QuickBooks, I would be more than happy to help. The class was 36 hours of instruction. Got my certification at the end of the class. I currently practice using QuickBooks on the side with a small business. I'm confident that I'll be able to cater to your needs.

You can buy one of our standard 5, 10 or 15% packages or customize your own package based on how much tutoring you need. The credit you purchase can be used towards any tutor at any time and does not expire. If you do not use the entire package, we will simply deduct what you did spend on tutoring from your original purchase price and give you a refund. Discount packages start as low as $190.
