Spelling

As a reading teacher, I teach phonemic awareness, phonics, decoding, fluency, and comprehension. Spelling is developmental and you must first be able to hear the sounds of the language to become proficient in spelling. It is my belief that if you have or develop phonological awareness, then you can become a good speller.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have earned an M.A. in Education and taught in the Public School System for 23 years. I also hold a Clear Specialist Instruction Credential in Reading from the California CTC authorizing me to teach Reading and Language Arts.

Phonics

I hold a Clear Specialist Instruction Credential in Reading through the Commission on Teacher Credentialing in California which authorizes me to teach Reading and Language Arts.
