My name is Austin and I am currently a senior at the University of California, Berkeley. I am majoring in Integrative Biology with the intention of attending medical school. I have taken college level courses in physics, biology, chemistry, math, biomechanics and many others. I have emerged from three years of college with a 3.68 GPA.
I decided to become a tutor because I personally believe I have the skills to be a great tutor. First of all, I am good at working with adolescences. I grew up with a younger brother and sister, helping them with their schoolwork as they followed in my footsteps. At all of their birthday parties their friends would love being around me, whether it was trying to tackle me on the soccer field or splashing around in the pool. I understand what kids expect in an older role model and I feel I can be a good influence. Second, I comprehend math and other sciences to a point where I can confidently teach the concepts. In middle school and high school I was in accelerated math programs where I finished geometry in eighth grade and Calculus BC in 12th grade. I received a score of 5 on the Biology, Physics Mechanics, Calculus AB and BC AP exams. In college, I realized I had an affinity for the subjects and that was a big part of my decision to try the medical school path. Third, I am organized and a good communicator. I am the secretary of a fraternity of sixty members, placing me in charge of all the logistics of running the house. Fourth, I have had past tutoring experience. In 2013 I tutored a sophomore in chemistry as he prepared for the AP Chemistry exam. I also tutored a 6th grader and 10th grader in their respective math classes.
Thank you for considering me as a tutor and I look forward to helping your child on the path to success.
For ACT/SAT testing, I did extremely well in the math sections on both exams. On the ACT math section I got a 36 en route to an overall 36 on the entire exam. On the SAT math section I got one questions wrong for a 770 out of 800. My qualifications in mathematics are as follow. In middle school and high school I was enrolled in advanced math tracks. I finished Algebra 1 and Geometry by eighth grade and then finished Calculus AB and BC by 12th grade. I took the AP exams for AB and BC and got a score of 5 on both. At UC Berkeley, I completed a full year of Calculus for my pre-med general education requirements and got an A in both classes. Math has always one of my strongest subjects, so I have confidently taught younger students ranging from 6th grade to high school sophomores.

My physics qualifications are as follows. In high school I took two years of physics and received a score of 5 on my AP Physics Mechanics exam. I have taken college level kinematics and electricity/magnetism courses at Berkeley, getting an A in both classes. I am a pre-med so I have taken courses in all the sciences, maintaining a 3.68 GPA in the process. I have also participated in a yearlong biomechanics research and lecture course, taught by one of the world's leaders in bio-inspired robots.
